Recently nationalism has come back ‘in’ in mainstream Australian culture. The use of the flag is more fashionable than ever. Alongside this the southern cross has become a ‘cool’ brand of nationalism that many young people buy into. This is just a reminder that stars don’t represent humans or their deeds especially not ones that are marketed to an idiotic nationalist community. Oh, and you can see the fuckin’ southern cross in Chile.
